This Monday! NO COVER

» Monday June 11 «
Wax Mannequin
w/ The World Provider
& Jenny Omnichord

It’s going to be one weird Monday. It’s the night for “outsiders” with cheeky Casio keyboards, lofty omnichords and bizarre on-stage antics. The evening begins with wacky multi-instrumentalist Jenny Omnichord; the solo side-project of 22 year-old Jenny Mitchell of Guelph’s favourite indie band The Barmitzvah Brothers. The last time I saw an omnichord on the Broken City stage was when BossHoss brought the house down with Britney Spears’ “Toxic”. Missed that show? For god sakes people! It was a Monday! Who doesn’t love Mondays?
Things just keep on getting stranger with the cheeky electro-synth pop sounds of The World Provider. What started out as a one-man band in Toronto has now blossomed into a Fully-Loaded-Casio-Rock-Band whose love affair with the soft rock melodies of Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac has created some of the most entertaining and infectious kitschy house-beats this side of the 80’s. Wax Mannequin needs no introduction really. Bizarre, alluring, grandiose, primordial psych-pop all delivered with dangerous on stage antics. Full band or solo his own programmed beats, automated bass and angry electric guitar, Wax Mannequin is a force to be reckoned with. Audience beware.

(PJ and Dan) + (Party and Coyoteman) = dance
